How do you currently apply this strategy, with or without the use of technology?
Our school has spent the last 3 years working on Reading Apprenticeship. This program trains the staff to help students with summarizing and note taking. We all have intergrated these stategies into our everyday classes. It is almost second nature now and the students have really responded to it.
What new insights or ideas did you gain from the reading?
Really, this article just reinforced how important it is for us to teach these skills to the students and that we have to model this to them. Most students do not take the time to learn how to learn and notetaking and summarizing force them to take a step back.

How might you use this tool in your classroom?
I am already using this tool in almost every class. There is an example on my Wiki Home Page and here is another one of one create by a student. This year has been hard to use VoiceThread since we have had issues with how the computers were set up to let the students use microphones. If this issue is resolved this summer we will be using VT a lot more. Right now students have to either use their cell phones or type in comments.
